Ship’s Log–June 20th

PicShells

These half days of school are wrecking havoc with my appetite. Waiting until 1:30 for lunch just isn’t working out well. I’m starving by noon, and today I coped by eating a small meal at noon and another at 1:30,which was probably too much, even on a day with two fight classes and definitely on a day when Thing 1 is making cookies that I have no self control around.

To try to undo the damage of the cookies and two lunches, I took two classes at the dojo: a 45 minute Brazilian jujitsu class followed by 45 minutes of Muay Thai. Even so, I fear I”m going to wake up tomorrow with the dreaded sausage fingers as punishment for overindulging with the cookies!

Breakfast:

  • Smoothie with banana, frozen mango, avocado, flax and chia seed, red leaf lettuce, kale, unsweetened soy milk, and water
  • Cinnamon raisin Ezekiel muffin with almond butter
  • Coffee with stevia

Morning Snack:

  • Iced ginger, peppermint, green tea
  • Orange
  • Half serving of leftover brown rice pasta with shiitake mushrooms

Lunch:

  • Sprouted wheat tortilla with hummus, pesto, sliced tomato, red onion, sriracha, and romaine lettuce
  • Cold brew New Orleans style coffee with unsweetened soy milk and vanilla stevia
  • Square of dark chocolate

Afternoon Snack-a-thon:

  • 1 tbs of dark chocolate chips
  • 2 Mint chocolate ship cookies (baking the for Thing 1’s birthday tomorrow, and I had to make sure they weren’t poisonous)
  • Guilt over the above
  • Iced tea
  • Pre-work out: apple with peanut butter

Dinner:

  • Bowl of black bean chili with Daiya cheese and sriracha
  • Wasa multigrain crackers
  • 1 mint chocolate chip cookie
