Ship’s Log–August 5th

PicShells

I RAN TODAY! It wasn’t much of a run, just a slow 2.25 miles, but it was something. When I woke, I noticed that my cough has changed from “Gah! I can’t breathe!” to “Let’s clear this crap out of here,” so I decided to see if a really easy workout would help things along by getting my blood moving (as well as getting a little sun on my skin). The run was pretty good, too. I coughed a little during the first mile, but the second felt positively wonderful, if terribly slow. The whole thing would have been perfect, too, but for the lawn mower I had to pass coming back home. I may be able to handle a really light run, but I sure as heck could not handle the dirt, debris, and diesel fumes that thing was spouting into the air.

My breathing after the run was a lot better. I was still coughing, but not as desperately as I had been the past few days. My energy levels are a little bit higher, too. Though the cough came back in the evening, I was finally able to have a slightly productive day and get some work completed, which felt good.
