Ship’s Log–September 23rd

What an exhausting day! I had meetings around the state in the morning.  I had to leave the house before 8 for the first, which was about an hour’s drive away. The second was an hour from the first, so I guess I basically spent the morning in my car. I knew that I wouldn’t be getting home for lunch until at least 1, and going from a 6:30 am breakfast to 1 pm for lunch was not a wise idea, so I packed  Kind Bar for a morning snack.

I wound up with a little time to kill between the two, which I spent at a mall grabbing a cup of hot tea and nibbling my Kind Bar while going over my file for the second meeting. I did not escape Teavana empty-handed, which is fine since I would like to start integrating more tea and less snacking into my days. I picked up a new tea tumbler and two tins of tea for the Things and I.

By noon I had gotten the news that my hearing for the evening had been cancelled, so I was able to hit the mats. I took the 45 minute MMA class and worked fairly hard, taking it easy only on the jump squats (my knees let me know quickly that they weren’t yet up to it). I probably should have also loafed it with the jumping jacks to give my ankle a rest, but it didn’t twinge as much as expected, which is good.

Breakfast:

  • Smoothie: banana, frozen raspberries, red leaf lettuce, romaine, kale, flax and chia seeds, Vega One Vanilla Chai, and water
  • 1 slice of cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread with almond butter and black cherry preserves
  • Coffee with stevia

Morning Snack:

  • Apple Cinnamon & Pecan Kind Bar
  • Monkey Picked Oolong from Teavana

Lunch:

  • Salad: red leaf lettuce, romaine, kale, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, shiitake, avocado, buffalo wing tempeh and a dressing made with miso, sriracha, and blackberry ginger balsamic.
  • Coconut Seltzer
  • Cappuccino with vanilla stevia and unsweetened soy milk
  • Piece of dark chocolate

Afternoon Mini-Meal:

  • Carrots with hummus
  • Homemade applesauce with a sprinkling of granola
  • Popcorn with olive oil and seasoning
  • Almond rose black tea

Dinner:

  • Homemade whole wheat mini pizza with Daiya shreds and vegan pepperoni topped with a dash of sriracha
  • Side salad of mixed greens, Sicilian lemon balsamic, and Fauxmesan
  • Raw coconut macaroons
  • Piece of dark chocolate
