Ship’s Log–September 26th

I did not get enough sleep last night, so I stumbled through today in an exhausted haze. Even so, I headed out to the dojo this evening to take my classes: 45 minutes of BJJ and 45 minutes of Muay Thai.

During rolling at the end of BJJ, my partner did a number on my right leg, from the knee right on down to my foot, aggravating the places that have been sore recently. I guess I was just not yet ready for that level of intensity. Hopefully all it needs is a good night sleep.

Breakfast:

  • Smoothie: Banana, strawberry, frozen blueberries, romaine, spinach, flax and chia seed, unsweetened soy milk, and water
  • 1 slice Ezekiel cinnamon raisin bread with peanut butter and black cherry preserves
  • Coffee with stevia

Morning Tea:

  • Monkey picked oolong

Lunch:

  • Salad: Red leaf lettuce, romaine, kale, heirloom tomato, shiitake, cucumber, avocado, and BBQ tempeh, dressed in miso, sriracha, and blackberry ginger balsamic
  • 1 large orange
  • Raspberry lime seltzer
  • Coffee with cardamom, vanilla stevia, and unsweetened soy milk
  • Piece of dark chocolate

Afternoon Mini Meal:

  • Carrots with pesto hummus
  • Apple with peanut butter
  • Monkey picked oolong

Dinner:

  • Leftover butternut squash and chickpea soup with baby spinach and sriracha
  • 2 slices whole grain pumpernickel
  • Coconut seltzer
  • Piece of dark chocolate and a spoonful of banana raisin peanut butter
