Ship’s Log–January 24th


I miss running, but it’s too cold and icy out there to risk it. I have really considered getting a one month gym membership to have access to a treadmill, but I just don’t like running in a gym. I really, really don’t like it. Since I don’t want running to become a chore that I force myself to do, I’m going to just wait and hope that the weather warms up enough to clear my paths soon.

I look forward to this weather breaking so that I can hit my trails again.


34 push ups


  • Oatmeal with blueberries, banana, flax-seed, unsweetened soy milk, and maple syrup
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and unsweetened soy milk

Morning Snack:

  • Green tea with cherry
  • 1 slice cinnamon raisin toast with peanut butter
  • Clementine


  • Leftover whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce
  • Red cabbage braised with tempeh bacon, dried cranberries, shiitake, hot chili paste, and blackberry ginger balsamic
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and soy milk
  • Dark chocolate

Afternoon Snack:

  • Wasa crackers with mustard and Daiya cheese
  • Wasa crackers and mini pita with hummus
  • Gingerbread spice tea


  • Soy burgers with Diaya cheese and red cabbage slaw, pickles, BBQ sauce, and mustard on whole wheat flats
  • Roasted cauliflower and carrots dressed with mayo and pineapple white balsamic
  • Glass of pinot noir
  • KIND Healthy Grains bar
