Ship’s Log–January 29th

I may have overdone it with the jumping rope. The twinge in my right ankle has returned. I guess the silver lining is that this shows how jumping rope really is a good substitute for running, since it aggravated the same trouble spot as my running has in the past.

Fitness:

8 rounds of jumping rope and running a flight of stairs, followed by 39 pushups. 45 minute MMA class with a lot of conditioning.

Breakfast:

  • Oatmeal with soy milk, bananas, blueberries, flax seed, cinnamon, walnuts, and maple syrup
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and soy milk

Morning Snack:

  • Green tea with cherry
  • Sandwich with cinnamon raisin bread, peanut butter, and sliced banana

Lunch:

  • Leftover brown rice pasta with broccolini, grape tomatoes, vegan chicken, and some shiitake mushrooms added in
  • Salad: red leaf lettuce, romaine, kale, cucumber, chickpeas, clementine, and sesame ginger dressing
  • Peach pear seltzer
  • Coffee
  • Dark chocolate, cranberries, and walnuts

Afternoon Snack:

  • Apple with peanut butter and brown rice syrup
  • Hummus and wasa cracker
  • Earl grey tea

Dinner:

  • Soy burger on whole wheat with Daiya swiss, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and chipotle mayo
  • Polenta fries
  • Murphy’s Stout
  • More dark chocolate, cranberries, and walnuts
