Ship’s Log–February 7th


I have decided to go ahead and try the Happy Herbivore 3-Day Reboot program over the weekend to get me out of my junk food snacking rut. Though I’m going to start it in full tomorrow since I had to do a little shopping today for some of the fresh ingredients, I decided to go ahead and try the Daily Detox drink today. It is much better than the cardboard lemonade of my previous cleanse, and I’ll go so far as the say that the addition of a sprinkle of cinnamon makes for a pretty darn tasty version of a fairly typical apple cider and cayenne detox cocktail.


February Ab Challenge: 30 sit ups, 7 push ups, and 25 seconds of plank


  • Smoothie: banana, frozen cherries, red leaf lettuce, romaine, flax and chia seeds, unsweetened soy milk, and water
  • 1 slice cinnamon raisin bread with peanut butter
  • Coffee

Morning Snack:

  • Daily detox drink from the Happy Herbivore 3-Day Reboot (water, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, cayenne, cinnamon, and a little maple syrup)


  • Kale, onions, garlic, shiitake, bell peppers, and chickpeas sautéed with chili paste and Braggs liquid aminos
  • Coconut seltzer
  • Soy milk cappuccino
  • Small piece of dark chocolate

Afternoon Snack:

  • Green cherry tea
  • Veggies and hummus
  • Blood orange
  • Lime seltzer


  • Baked, breaded tofu with HP Sauce
  • Sweet potatoes smashed with hummus
  • Red leaf lettuce, romaine, and grape tomatoes with sesame ginger dressing
  • Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout
  • 1/2 box Junior Mints
