Ship’s Log–February 25th

I’m just not doing well with the afternoon snacking again. At least today I was able to take two classes to offset some of the extra calories, but I just don’t have that snacking under control again. Today I was triggered by a phone call telling me that my very first teacher had passed, and I soon found myself in the kitchen downing the last of the marshmallows that we had bought before the last big snowstorm. They call is comfort food for a reason, I guess.

Fitness:

  • February Ab Challenge Day 25: 80 sit ups/ 22 push ups/ 1m 15s plank
  • Afternoon: 45 minute walk in the park freezing my buns off
  • Evening: 1 hour BJJ and 45 minutes MMA

Breakfast:

  • Daily detox drink
  • Cinnamon raisin Ezekiel muffin with almond butter and 1/3 banana, sliced
  • Broiled grapefruit half with 1 strawberry, sliced

Morning Snack:

  • Peppermint tea

Lunch:

  • Leftover cuban black bean soup and whole grain bread
  • Coffee

Afternoon Snack:

  • White tea
  • Spiced carrot muffin and a clementine
  • Handful of marshmallows to feed my sadness
  • Pre-classes: wasa cracker with hummus and a water with NUUN tablet

Dinner:

  • Whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce, vegan sausages, and vegan meatballs
  • Handful of salad mix with balsamic vinegar
