Ship’s Log–March 21st

Today’s easy run didn’t feel easy at all. I was struggling to maintain even a 10 min/mile pace, which is unusual, so this afternoon I paid a visit to the chiropractor to have my aching ankle checked out. My right foot is turning in a bit and supinating when it strikes, which is new and unwelcome. I’ve been given a few new stretched to help loosen the muscles that are pulling my hip (and therefore my foot) inward. Hopefully that will do the trick and get my right foot back into a neutral striking position.

Fitness:

  • March Full Body Challenge Day 21: 20 push ups/15 sit ups/ 35 squats
  • Training Run: easy 2.25 mile jog

Breakfast:

  • Smoothie: banana, strawberries, frozen blueberries, spinach, romaine, flax and chia seeds, soy milk, and water
  • Cinnamon raisin mochi with maple syrup
  • Coffee

Lunch:

  • Bowl of black bean chili with avocado and was a crackers
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk
  • Girl scout cookies

Afternoon Snack:

  • Cinnamon raisin Ezekiel muffin with peanut butter
  • Chocolate pretzel protein bar (saw it at a natural pharmacy and decided to try it. Tastes just like all other protein bars: i.e. chocolate and cardboard)
  • Tall vanilla soy mochaccino

Dinner:

  • Brown rice, tofu, and veggies cooked in the crock pot
  • Mixed greens, grape tomatoes, and cucumber with sesame ginger dressing
  • More cookies
