Ship’s Log–March 27th

PicShells

Over the past week or so I’ve had a growing issue with my knees. Every once in a while, I am getting a pain, sometimes sharp, behind the knee caps. Tonight it became a problem in class. We were doing a conditioning drill called a frog jump, that involves jumping up form a deep squat, and I felt like someone was shoving an ice pick through my knee cap.

Ouchie.

I suspect that the increasing number of squats is to blame. If my form is off, which it may be, I could be putting too much strain on my knees. Though there are only a few days left to March’s Full Body Challenge, I think I need to stop with the squats now. I’m going to look into some alternative moves to sub for the squats for the next few days, something that won’t put the same strain on my knees. I need those knees to be in top shape for the Heartbreak Hill Half!
