Ship’s Log–April 18th

I stepped on the scale this morning expecting bad news after so many days of eating poorly, but it wasn’t as bad as I had feared. Two pounds, no doubt mostly water. That doesn’t mean I was at 100%. My run felt harder than it should have, like my legs were full of lead. If the past is any guide, I should be back to normal in a day or two (provided I don’t over-indulge too much on Easter Sunday).

Fitness:

  • Temp run: 1 mile warm up; drills and strides; 30 minutes at pace; 1 mile cool down

Breakfast:

  • Whole wheat everything bagel with Chive and herb Tofutti cream cheese
  • Orange
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and soy creamer

Lunch:

  • Salad: mixed greens, baked tofu, tempeh salad, grape tomatoes, cucumber, red pepper, and cashews dressed with miso, sriracha, and blackberry ginger dressing
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and soy creamer
  • 1 small square of fudge, the last bit leftover from our trip

Afternoon Snack:

  • Post run: water with NUUN tablet; banana with peanut butter and raisins

Dinner:

  • Whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce and vegan sausage
  • Mixed greens with balsamic vinegar
  • Blackberry moonshine and soda
