Ship’s Log–April 24th

My work schedule this week has been exceptionally busy. It’s been all I can do to get my runs in, and Tuesday night was my only chance to hit the mats. Combine that with a lot of late nights out at hearings, which gives me the next-day munchies in a house full of candy, and I feel like I’m not doing very well with my wellness plan.

I’ve thought about doing another short cleanse, but I’m worried that it will make my training, which is ramping up, that much harder. I’ve been watching my weight creep slowly upward rather than down, which is incredibly discouraging. I know that the more me there is to haul around, the slower I’m going to run in June, but I just can’t resist the stupid chocolate. I’m just so frustrated with myself right now, and I’m not sure how to fix it.

Fitness:

  • 45 minute walk in the park

Breakfast:

  • Smoothie: banana, raspberry, frozen blueberry, red leaf lettuce, romaine, kale, flax seed, Plant Fusion protein, and water
  • 1 slice toasted Yoga Bread with almond butter
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and soy creamer

Morning Snack:

  • Matcha with ginger

Lunch:

  • Salad: red leaf lettuce, romaine, kale, red onion, grape tomato, avocado, tempeh bacon, and shiitake dressed with sriracha, miso, and blackberry ginger balsamic
  • Coffee
  • Piece of chocolate

Snack:

  • Handful of strawberries
  • Slice of bread with peanut butter
  • A handful of jelly beans. And now they’re all gone

Dinner:

  • Coconut red lentil and spinach soup
  • Whole grain naan
  • Another square of dark chocolate

Late Night:

  • Wasa crackers with hummus and green olives
  • Blackberry moonshine and soda
  • More chocolate
