Ship’s Log–April 28th

My appetite caught up with me big time this afternoon and evening. I felt like a bottomless pit that could not be satisfied. This has happened in the past when I was training for half marathons…when I hit the longer runs, I get super-hungry the day after.

I’m not really sure what to do about it, but it is surely a sign that my post-run refueling is off somehow, right?

Fitness:

  • 1 1/2 hour birding walk in the park

Breakfast:

  • Whole wheat waffles with peanut butter, 1/2 banana, and a drizzle of maple syrup
  • 1/2 grapefruit broiled with strawberries
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk

Lunch:

  • Small bowl of black bean chili
  • Red leaf lettuce, romaine, kale, red onion, blueberries, raw cashews, and tangerine balsamic
  • Cold brew New Orleans style coffee with almond milk

Afternoon Snack:

  • Small bowl of mesa sunrise cereal with raisins and almond milk
  • Slice of yoga bread with peanut butter
  • Piece of dark chocolate

Dinner:

  • Vegan chicken nuggets with BBQ sauce
  • Steamed broccoli

Late Night (after work):

  • Wasa crackers with pesto, mustard, and Daiya cheese
  • Handful of cranberries and walnuts
  • Handful of cashews
  • Long Trail Ale
