Ship’s Log–June 18th

Today it was suddenly, magically middle-of-the-summer hot. Thing 2 and I had decided early in the day to do our short training run together after lunch, when it wound up being well over 90. Running in the heat and full sun for just under two miles felt like the last two miles of a difficult half marathon.

It’s going to be a long hot summer.

Fitness:

  • 1.75 mile run in the heat of the day
  • 45 minutes MMA and 45 minutes BJJ

Breakfast:

  • Whole wheat everything bagel with peanut butter
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk

Morning Snack:

  • Small bowl of mixed berries, soy yogurt, and granola

Lunch:

  • Tempeh slabs seared with Korean BBQ Sauce on whole grain flat with cole slaw
  • Iced coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk

Afternoon Snack:

  • Kind Plus blueberry pecan bar
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk
  • Banana

Dinner:

  • Whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce
  • Red leaf and romaine with balsamic vinegar
  • Handful of chocolate chips
