Ship’s Log–June 25th

Yesterday’s 45 minutes of MMA Fighter Fitness training made for a sore day today, but Thing 1 and I pushed through the discomfort and managed our short training run and a class despite hamstrings that really wanted us to just quit.

The first week of intense training is always the hardest, and I suspect that by next week our bodies will become more accustomed to the fighter training and recover faster. In the meantime, OUCH.

Fitness:

  • 3.2 mile tempo run
  • 5 mile walk on the boardwalk
  • 45 minutes MMA

Breakfast:

  • Cinnamon raisin Ezekiel muffin with peanut butter
  • Smoothie: strawberries, banana, frozen blueberry, red leaf lettuce, romaine, kale, and vanilla soy milk
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk

Morning Snack:

  • Iced coffee with soy milk

Lunch:

  • Salad: red leaf lettuce, romaine, kale, red onion, blueberries, pecans, and vegan chicken strips with balsamic vinegar
  • Coffee
  • Handful of chocolate chips

Afternoon Snack:

  • White bean and pesto spread with rice crackers
  • Vega Sport Protein Bar

Dinner:

  • Tofu hot dogs on whole wheat bun with ketchup, mustard, and pickles
  • Cole Slaw
  • Riverhorse Summer Blonde ale
  • Granola and chocolate chips
