Ship’s Log–July 6th

The Things got another beach day out of me today. It felt pretty good to sit on the sand under the warm sun letting my legs relax after this morning’s training run, and I only got a wee bit of sunburn. We got there a bit late, due to a side trip to the farmer’s market, and we had to walk nearly a mile from the only parking space we could find on the south end of town to the surfing beach we needed to sit at on the north end, but once we settled in it was lovely.

I’m pretty proud of tonight’s dinner (though the photo came out terribly blurry). I was exhausted come evening, and I really didn’t want to cook. There was talk of ordering out for pizza. The Hub and I decided to tough it out and cook, tired though we were, since spending $$$ and extra-calories on pizza seemed really stupid on the same day we had stocked the fridge at the farmer’s market. It’s always a better choice to do homemade over take out, even when you have to dig deep for the energy to do the work.
