Ship’s Log–July 19th & 20th

Saturday:

What an insanely busy day! Two classes in the morning followed by a flurry of chores in the afternoon, including prepping and freezing a bunch of leftover goodies from last weekend’s Farmer’s Market. We ended the day with a family movie night, watching The Lego Movie.

Fitness:

  • 45 minutes MMA and 45 minutes no-gi BJJ

Breakfast:

  • Whole wheat everything bagel with peanut butter
  • Small glass of fresh squeezed orange juice
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk

Morning Snack:

  • post-class: Vega Sport Recovery protein bar

Lunch:

  • Arepas (cornmeal griddle cake) made with Daiya cheddar shreds
  • Saute of red onion, garlic, red pepper, yellow squash, zucchini, tomato and black beans topped with a little peri-peri sauce
  • Shredded romaine and red leaf lettuce with Sicilian lemon white balsamic
  • Cold brew New Orleans style coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk

Afternoon Snack:

  • Zoku popsicle made with banana, blueberries, strawberries, local honey, and a little almond milk
  • Veggie chips and hummus

Dinner:

  • Smart Dog tofu hot dogs on whole wheat bun with mustard, ketchup, and sauerkraut
  • Coleslaw
  • Watermelon
  • Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy

Movie Night:

  • Junior mints

Sunday:

Another crazy busy day, with the morning spent rushing through a long run, shopping, and cooking so that we could spend the afternoon and evening at a family reunion.

Fitness:

  • 8 mile long slow run

Breakfast:

  • Pre-run: Sprouted grain Ezekiel muffin with peanut butter and raspberry preserves; coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk
  • Post-run: Vega Sport Recovery protein bar

Morning Snack:

  • Cold brew New Orleans style coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk
  • Dark chocolate covered graham cracker

Party:

  • Hummus and veggie and chips
  • Lasagna. Real cheese, not vegan, and I’ll pay for it tomorrow, I’m sure.
  • Veggie spring rolls
  • Cashews
  • Kale salad
  • Cake
  • 2 Hell or High Watermelon wheat beers
