Ship’s Log–August 7th

This “Lose 10 pounds in August” thing is not progressing well for me. It would be easier if people didn’t keep putting high-calorie foods in my way. Today it was homemade cookies at work and then Thing 1 bringing home zeppoli after I had already indulged post-work stress-eating snack.

I need to be put in an isolation bubble if I’m going to succeed.

Weight change since July 30th: -2.1 pounds

Fitness:

  • 45 minutes MMA Fighter Fitness training

Breakfast:

  • Whole wheat blueberry pancakes with diced peach, spiced pecans, and maple syrup
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and soy milk

Morning Snack:

  • Naturbox Dutch Cocoa Sun-Crunch

Lunch:

  • Raw kale salad: kale, red pepper, carrots, and red onion with olive oil, cashews, miso, mirin, soy sauce, orange juice and rice wine vinegar
  • Mandarin “chicken” pieces
  • A few battered and fried asparagus beans
  • Coffee with vanilla stevia and almond milk

Afternoon Snack:

  • Small bowl of banana, strawberry, granola, and plain coconut milk yogurt

Dinner:

  • Tempeh cooked in HP Sauce served in a whole grain flat with sauerkraut and mustard
  • Sliced tomato with white truffle olive oil, salt, and pepper
  • Small chocolate square and a few spiced pecans

Late Night:

  • Chocolate chip cookie (at my hearing. The Board’s secretary brought home-baked cookies for everyone)
  • Small bowl of leftover kale salad
  • Wasa cracker with peanut butter
  • 1 zeppoli
