Ship’s Log–September 19th

I have no photos of today’s meals. I hate that, but it is because I replaced my phone and something went wrong as I tried to transfers the day’s photos from the old phone to the new one. Oh well. Starting tomorrow, though, the photos will be better since the new phone has a much better camera on board.

Replacing a piece of my running kit two days before a race is a bit iffy, but if my running app fails to work properly Sunday, I will still be able to run. I just won’t know how fast (or, God forbid, slow) I’m going. It’s not as big of a risk as trying to race in untested shoes or clothing. It’s good policy to make sure that any critical item is tested in a training run for discomfort rather than relying on them for your big day. Sometimes clothing can chafe something fierce, or a new pair of shoes might be a terrible match for your stride. The phone, however, is less critical.

I guess that is unless my music stops playing, and then I’ll be in tears on the course. That’s a risk I am willing to take.
