Ship’s Log–September 29th

My legs are almost to the point where they don’t hurt anymore, almost, so I decided to take a class this evening. I cut it off at one, fearing that I was not yet recovered enough to push through two.

My training for the next few weeks promises to be more sporadic than I would like, but it is out of my control. My work load is picking up, and that means more nights out at hearings rather than at the dojo. It also means more late nights where I’ll be schlepping home tired and peckish, and I’m at risk of overdoing it with the snacks and late night beers. It’s time to develop a better coping mechanism to help me unwind and fall asleep after a stressful night out. I’m open to suggestions!

Distance to goal weight: 19.6 pounds

Fitness:

  • 1.5 mile stroll
  • 45 minutes MMA

Breakfast:

  • Blueberries, strawberries, and banana with granola and plain Greek style coconut milk yogurt
  • Coffee with sugar and almond milk

Morning Snack:

  • NatureBox Sea Salt sun crisps
  • Iced peppermint green tea

Lunch:

  • Multigrain wrap with hummus, sliced tomato, red onion, cucumber, and mixed greens
  • Red grapes
  • Coffee with sugar and almond milk
  • NatureBox Praline Pumpkin Seeds

Afternoon Snack:

  • Rice cake with peanut butter
  • Iced peppermint green tea

Dinner:

  • Roasted red potatoes with pesto
  • Tofurky “chicken” and apple sausage with a dollop of horseradish mustard
  • Sautéed broccoli, tomatoes, and red onion
  • Pumpkin Ale
  • NatureBox Praline Pumpkin Seeds
