Ship’s Log–December 5th

PicShellsI am feeling pretty disheartened about my ability to shed the extra weight I’ve gathered the last two years. There are constant temptations to eat off plan, and my family is more about supporting eating badly than they are about helping me stay on track. With the stress effecting me at the moment, I am particularly vulnerable to the offers of extra treats. Hence today’s cookie, pie, and pizza.

I had planned to attend a long BJJ class at a sister dojo tonight, but the dark, dreary weather did not inspire a desire to spend the evening being pounded on. Given the recent stress effecting my family, we decided that a better way to spend the evening was dressing up our home for the holidays in the hopes that a little Christmas cheer might improve everyone’s mood.

Distance to goal weight: 21.9 pounds of truffles

Fitness:

  • Fitbit metrics: 5,763 steps, 12 floors

Breakfast:

  • Whole wheat everything bagel with scrambled egg, Daiya provolone, and seitan bacon
  • Small glass of orange juice
  • Coffee with vanilla soy milk

Lunch:

  • Tempeh avocado wrap, which I couldn’t finish
  • Potato chips
  • Moroccan mint tea
  • Coffee with vanilla soy milk
  • Vegan chocolate chip cookie

Afternoon Snack:

  • Slice of apple pie

Dinner:

  • Grandma’s pie pizza
  • Mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, and red onion dressed with tequila lime vinegar and chipotle olive oil
  • Double Bag ale
