Ship’s Log–December 10th


I am feeling so blah. Have been for at least two weeks, maybe longer. The whole family feels it. I thought maybe it was stress, because the stress here rightness remains HIGH and will stay there until we get our Holiday Miracle, but I’ve talked to too many other people who are not influenced by my current crisis who are also feeling out of sorts. Maybe it’s a mild virus keeping us all feeling tired, achy, and bloated.

And like we want to be in bed, constantly. It took a huge effort to get my gear on and head to class tonight, only to schlump my way through 90 minutes of practice. I want to feel 100% again, though I’d settle for 90%.

Distance to goal weight: 22.9 pounds


  • Fitbit metrics: 7,430 steps, 13 floors
  • 45 minutes MMA
  • 45 minutes BJJ


  • Sprouted grain cinnamon raisin bagel with peanut butter and raspberry preserves
  • Smoothie: banana, pineapple, blackberry, frozen blueberries, flax and chia seed, vanilla soy milk, and water
  • Coffee with vanilla soy milk

Morning Snack:

  • Peppermint green tea with honey and lemon


  • Small bowl of leftover lentil spinach soup
  • Grilled Daiya cheddar and peppered tofurky with whole grain bread
  • Coffee with vanilla soy milk
  • Dark chocolate truffle

Afternoon Snack:

  • Wasa crackers with hummus
  • Tiny cup of hot chocolate


  • Homemade vegan pepperoni pizza
  • Mixed greens with tequila lime vinegar and Tuscan herb olive oil
  • Boddington’s Ale
  • Truffles & dark chocolate covered banana (because the pizza just wasn’t enough for any of us to feel full)
