Ship’s Log–January 24th, 2015

I rose this morning aching all over, stuffed up completely again, and deeply regretting last night’s pizza. When I eat that, I never sleep well. I really shouldn’t eat that any more. Really.

The world outside the window looked lovely and freshly dusted in a few inches of snow, which was an illusion shattered once I opened the door to let the dogs out and heard the nasty sound of rain. It was just so nasty that we all agreed to stay in rather than slogging through the 2 inches of slush to go to the dojo. Thing 1 and I hit the kettle bells instead.

We had been invited over to have dinner with friends and play a few rounds Kill Doctor Lucky (like reverse Clue, where you try to commit the murder rather than solve it). I think I behaved moderately well with the food, trying to pace myself with the chips and dips, and then having only a small portion of the pasta. I may have overindulged on the brownies a wee bit, because chocolate.
