Ship’s Log–February 17, 2015

PicShells

Today was another snow day, with a good six inches to shovel off the driveway. The snow didn’t weigh much, thankfully, but we’re running out of places to put it. This made shoveling a bitter work, since by the end, Thing 1 and I had to either throw the snow over the shoulder-high drifts on the side of the driveway (it’s not that we’ve had that much snow, it’s that our driveway has a knee high retaining wall on the side to begin with), or walk it to the street to dump it.

It was a good workout, is what I’m saying.

In the evening, I had the energy to get through the first class easily, but by the end, it was clear that Thing 1 could not make it through another. I worry that she’s coming down with something…her face was flushed and hot, though she didn’t have a fever, and she complained of a burning throat. We headed home early so she could get a good night’s sleep before school tomorrow.
