Ship’s Log–March 11th, 2015

I finally ran today! It was a slow run, interrupted frequently by the need to stop and walk over the thick patches of ice that still remain despite the 60 degree weather, but it was a run nonetheless. It felt glorious to be outside in the sun, studying along the pavement (where it was clear). God, how I have missed my runs.

  • Slow, easy 3.3 mile run
  • 15 minutes strength training

  • Fruit (banana, blueberry, strawberry, and blackberry) with granola, unsweetened soy yogurt, and a little maple syrup
  • Coffee with vanilla soy milk

Morning Snack:

  • Peppermint green tea

  • Burrito with vegan beef, guacamole, salsa, and mixed greens in a pumpernickel wrap
  • Kale salad
  • Coffee with vanilla soy milk
  • 2 thin mints and a piece of dark chocolate

Afternoon Snack:

  • Peppered tofurky wrapped with hummus
  • Strawberries

  • Black bean chili
  • Slice of whole wheat bread

Late Night:

  • River Horse Chocolate Porter
  • Popcorn
  • Thin Mints and Trefoils

  1. Stick with an activity as your focus! You start by talking if running, yet your picture is of “FOOD”! #thetrainer

    • My photos are food because food the demon I battle. Activity, or lack thereof, is not my problem. My typical week includes 5 to 7 hours of training, including MMA, BJJ, strength training, and running, the last one of which I have not been able to do for weeks due to inclement weather and icy conditions on my path.
