I fell off the radar there for a full week. Sorry. I just wasn’t up to doing much of anything.
Last weekend in Boston was…eventful. I woke up a little under the weather Saturday with a mild case of the sniffles, so my sister and I decided to skip the spin class and focus my energies on getting her packed for the move. We managed to move most of her kitchen to the new place before heading out for a lovely dinner with her fella.
Well, the dinner seemed lovely at the time. It wasn’t so lovely at 2:30 am when all three of us were dealing with food poisoning. I’ll spare you the horrid details, but by sunrise Sunday morning I had so many broken capillaries in my eyelids that I looked like someone had tried to choke me. In fact, when I finally made it back home Monday and into my doctor’s office, they actually asked me if someone had tried to choke me. At least I know my core is plenty strong.
The food poisoning didn’t last past Sunday, really, but the ravaging it did to my system left the door open for that little case of the sniffles to grow into a full on sinus infection. I spent the rest of the week on the couch, alternating between doses of antibiotic and probiotics. Saturday was the first day I was well enough to attempt training of any sort. I hit the mats to work up a good sweat, which even at 50% my usual level exhausted me.
This upcoming week is going to be all about getting my strength back. In the meantime, I’m working my on selfie skills:
This week’s summary looks like this:
- Weight lost: Up one pound since the last time I check in two weeks ago. I’m not going to stress about it. My system is still all sorts of unbalanced.
- Fitness, 1 hour total:
- No runs. The weather was good, but my body was not.
- 1 1/2 MMA/BJJ classes. I did the first class Saturday all the way through, then only parts of the second class
- 0 strength training sessions
- Food: At least I was eating.
